12 Cavite LGUs sign up for two-year, lock-in sponsorship June 15, 2012

AROUND 11,823 beneficiaries from the 12 Local Government Units (LGUs) of Cavite will continue to receive their health insurance coverage after their respective LGUs agreed to renew their sponsorship by availing of the two-year, lock-in period with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth). By taking advantage of the discounted premium of P1,800 for the two-year coverage, the LGUs will not only ensure the health of their constituents but will also be able to save their funds for other valuable projects.

The ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between PhilHealth and the participating LGUs was held at the Municipal Hall of Carmona, Cavite. PhilHealth President and CEO Dr. Eduardo P. Banzon led the signing ceremony, together with Assistant Vice President Ruben John A. Basa, PhilHealth Regional Office IVA (PRO IVA) Vice President Alberto Manduriao, PRO IVA officers and staffmembers.

The LGUs were represented by Mayors Leonisa Joana Virata of General Mariano Alvarez, Edwin Sisante of Magallanes, Edwina Mendoza of Naic, Bienvenido Dimero of Indang, Manuel Romero of Mendez, and Dahlia Loyola of Carmona; Councilors Efren Redruco of General Emilio Aguinaldo, Kerby Salazar of General Trias, Luis Batingal, Jr. of Silang; CSWD Officers Rosalinda Eridao of Tagaytay City and Nora delos Santos of Trece Martires City; and Municipal Administrator Amor Kagahastian of Tanza.

The event was witnessed by Rep. Roy Loyola (5th Dist., Cavite) who expressed his support to PhilHealth and Manuel Alunan, President of Carmona Business Club.

The signing ceremony was coordinated by Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) Heads Ma. Obelia Fontanilla of Imus and Gerlon Joseph Magpantay of Trece Martires City, with the support of Arturo Ardiente, Officer-in-charge, Field Operations Division. (Rexylene F. Verbo,PRO B/PRO IV-A)
