Rizal Province Sustains 'PhilHealth Sabado' February 1, 2011

IN the Province of Rizal, the National PhilHealth Registration Day (NPRD) was a huge success because of Task Force Rizal's unity and good team work. Task Force Rizal is comprised of representatives from the Department of Health - Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) 4A, PhiHealth's Rizal Service Office, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Department of Interior and Local Government, Rizal Provincial Government and the 14 municipalities/ city and other non-government agencies.

Task Force Rizal exhibited enthusiasm and utmost commitment in attaining the NPRD's goals. PhilHealth's Rizal Service Office, in coordination with DOH-CHD 4A spearheaded the negotiations with the Rizal Provincial Government, the different local government units (LGUs) and other partner-agencies to convince them to stage the NPRD in the different municipalities of the province.

After successfully staging the NPRD last October 2 at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City, Task Force Rizal decided to reach out to more Rizalenyos by staging the same activity in all the towns of the province. Thus, the activity was coined "PhilHealth Sabado...Tuloy Pa Rin sa mga Rizalenyo."

Sixteen (16) PhilHealth Online Membership Registration sites were established in the last quarter of CY 2010. Some 1,774 new Individually Paying Members were recruited and total collections reached P651,500.00

The DOH-CHD 4A appreciated the initiative and dedication of the personnel of Rizal Service Office and awarded all participants with a Certificate of Appreciation during the NPRD Post-Assessment meeting.

The DOH allotted 8,661 PhilHealth IDs for the province of Rizal, 6,999 of which have already been issued. The total number listed in the National Household Targeting System for Rizal Province is 17,892. Inspired with the overwhelming and warm response of the Rizalenyos, Task Force Rizal plans to continue and enroll the remaining 9,231 out this year. (Raymond Edwin Acoba, PhRO NCR)
