MOA with Private Registration and Merchant Partners SignedNovember 3, 2011

TO increase membership coverage and strengthen its premium collection efforts, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) formally forged ties with its private partners through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement held at the Lopez Bldg., Meralco Center in Pasig City . The partnership with the private sector through the I-PhilHealthy campaign is part of PhilHealth?s approach to attain its mandate of enrolling all Filipinos into the National Health Insurance Program (NHIP). It is in response to the Aquino Health Agenda on Universal Health Care or the ?Kalusugan Pangkalahatan.?

Through the I-PhilHealthy card, members can avail themselves of discounts and privileges from various partner-merchants when purchasing drugs, medicines and medical supplies.

Under the MOA, the registration partners such as SM and Bayad Center will accept membership applications, and collect premium payments from existing and new members of PhilHealth. At the same time, e-Soluzione, All Card Plastics Philippines and Prime IT Source, Inc. will facilitate the issuance of cards to dependents, as well as to new and existing members.

Padilla, PhilHealth EVP-COO led the MOA signing ceremony participated in by registration partners Julia Christine Jatico, President, e-Soluzione; Ana Parga, President, Prime IT Source Inc.; PhilHealth; Allieta Cue, President, All Card Plastics Philippines; Manuel Lorenzo Tuason, President and CEO, CIS Bayad Center Inc.; and Dennis Yaw, AVP for Business Center Operations, SM Department Store.

On the other hand, merchant-partners have committed to provide cardholders with substantial discounts on quality medicines, medical equipment and services. Those who formalized the partnership with PhilHealth were Maria Carmen Manzano, President, PQ Healthshield Inc.; Larry Salazar, General Manager, Qualifirst Health Inc.; Ellen Lam, President, Fresenius Medical Care; Roberto Taboada, President and Managing Director, GSK Philippines; Lyle Joseph Morell, Director for Health, Watsons Personal Stores Inc.; Jatico who is also Vice President, JNW Drug Testing Center; and Atty.
