PhilHealth Sabado 2 @ NKTI July 14, 2011

Despite the heavy rains that caused sporadic flooding in most parts of the metropolis, people from all walks of life went in throngs to the National Kidney Transplant Institute (NKTI) last June 25 for the second Nationwide PhilHealth Registration Day (NPRD) held right at the hospital lobby.

"Despite the weather, the NKTI was teeming with people," Dr. Imelda Pe, Chief of NCR Central Benefits Administration Section of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) said. She added that the number of walk-in clients was more than what they expected. Around 20 other staffmembers from the Quezon City Service Office manned the site, providing online and information services.

The process of transacting business with PhilHealth on that day was systematic: tables were organized as to information and registration, assessment, encoding, payment, printing and distribution of cards.

The NKTI site catered mostly to new members under the Individually Paying Program (IPP), but new registrants under the Lifetime Member Program (LMP) as well as existing members under the Employed and Overseas Workers Programs (OWP) also participated in the event.
