The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation Regional Office 02 (PhRO2) recently joined other government agencies in the implementation of the Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) in several municipalities in the region.
A total of thirty (30) BOSS Centers kicked off operations in the first week of January this year, catering to the needs of small and medium-sized business entrepreneurs applying for renewal of business permits. The BOSS Centers also catered to Individually Paying Members beating the deadline for extended payment due to sufficient regularity of contributions.
Earlier, some municipalities had approved the inclusion of PhilHealth clearance as one of the pre-requisites in the renewal of the business licenses of their constituents.
Dr. Roberto Reyes, PhRO2 Regional Vice President said that the establishment of BOSS Centers in some municipalities in the region is one way of bringing PhilHealth's services closer to its members. He said that PhilHealth services in the BOSS centers include receiving of documents for membership application, remittance reports, premium payments, and issuance of necessary forms and PhilHealth clearance.
Reyes also said that putting up BOSS Centers in some municipalities was a result of the negotiations and series of coordination done by the regional office with the Local Government Units to include PhilHealth clearance in the list of requirements when securing business permits.
The BOSS Centers will run for the whole month of January and will be extended until February.
Among the government agencies that joined PhilHealth Region 02 in the BOSS Centers are Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), Social Security System (SSS), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the licensing office of the concerned municipality. (Reported by Samuel A. Morillo, PhRO II)
