40,000 PhilHealth Cards Granted to Manileños October 4, 2011

A total of 41,374 PhilHealth cards, sponsored by the Department of Health, were recently turned over to the City of Manila. The recipients of the cards were listed under the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) as identified by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Present during the various ID distribution ceremonies was Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim who helped distribute the cards to the beneficiaries. In his speeches, Lim constantly reminded his constituents about the importance and benefits of PhilHealth.

Jay R. dela Fuente, Head of the City Social Welfare Department of Manila, scheduled the series of ID distributions at the City College of Manila, Patricia Covered Court, RASAC Sports Complex, Dapitan Sports Complex and Sarmiento Covered Court.

The ID distribution activity in Manila will continue in the remaining months of the year. PhilHealth Marketing Officers, led by Rochelle San Pedro, Manila Service Office Head, orient the card recipients about their PhilHealth benefits and how these can be availed of.

As of July 2011, a total of 65,773 PhilHealth members are already registered under the Sponsored Program.
