PhilHealth Joins Labor Day Celebration May 16, 2011

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) recently took part in this year's Jobs and Livelihood Fair held on Labor Day at the Rizal Park in Manila .


The day-long event was organized by the Department of Labor and Employment and was graced by thousands of job-seeking new graduates and repatriated overseas contract workers who are either re-entering the local job market or finding new livelihood and business opportunities.

PhilHealth was given booth space which was jointly managed by the Public Affairs Department and a team from Manila Service Office of the NCR North Branch which provided online verification of membership records, online verification of claims, printing of ID cards and member data record (MDR), and information dissemination.

A total of 482 clients have been served by the said booth where 449 of them were able to get their ID cards and MDRs on-the-spot, while 33 others were assisted with their membership and claims verification concerns.

According to the DOLE website, about 7,169 job seekers were hired during the event.

Other government agencies that joined the event were Social Security System, National Bureau of Investigation, Home Development Mutual Fund, National Statistics Office and Professional Regulation Commission, while participating private companies included Globe Telecom, Asia Brewery and Sykes.
