Onsite Registration Commences at GMA Network, Inc. and Philippine Information Agency September 23, 2011

ONSITE registration for new members of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) commenced mid-last week and early this week at two locations in Quezon City , in a bid to bring the list-up services to employees of both companies, as well as to employees in nearby organizations.

The onsite registration activity at the GMA Network, Inc. and at the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) premises included on-the-spot issuance of the new PhilHealth cards for registrants. The new card, which comes in PVC material, will enable the cardholders to avail themselves of substantial discounts on health and wellness products and services in selected PhilHealth partner-establishments.

At least nine (9) locations at the GMA Network compound were devoted to the online desk services spearheaded by Prime IT Source, Inc., PhilHealth's partner in onsite registration facility. For three days last week, the services enabled Prime IT Source to issue an estimated 900 cards to employees of the broadcasting network, and about 600 cards more to employees of two security agencies assigned to the network. Staffmembers from PhilHealth's NCR branches were also on hand to provide information services to employees with various membership concerns.

At the PIA, employees from nearby government agencies such as the National Housing Authority, Departments of Agriculture, Agrarian Reform, Environment and Natural Resources, National Meat Inspection Service, Bureau of Soils, People's Television Network, and Philippine Broadcasting System trooped to the online service desk at the PIA lobby to have their new PhilHealth cards printed. Employees were able to get their new cards on the same day. The cards may be used in such partner-establishments as Watson's, South Star Drug, Rose Pharmacy, Vivian Sarabia Optical, Fresenius Medical Care, JNW Drug Testing Inc., and PQ Health Shield.

The ongoing massive registration activity is part of PhilHealth's efforts to primarily reach out to non-members who have the means to pay for their own premium contributions, as well as to existing members who have yet to receive their PhilHealth cards. (END)
