The recent Jobs Fair organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) was one of the highlights of this year's celebration of the 113th Independence Day. Around 113 employers that included 83 local, 20 overseas and ten (10) government agencies, participated in the activity where over 17,000 vacancies were made available for job seekers.
At the same time, four government agencies including the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) provided pre-employment support and advice.
A team from the PhilHealth Public Affairs Department and NCR North Branch led by Branch Manager Leticia P. Portugal , was the earliest exhibitor to report at the venue. An information desk with 14 staffmembers was set up and queries from both members and non-members were attended to. The team also provided online services such as ID printing and generation of member data records (MDRs). At the end of the day, about 975 jobseekers were attended to, and 570 ID cards were printed and distributed to booth visitors. (END)
