Our recent meeting with Governor Jose Enrique "Joen" Miraflores of Aklan marks a crucial step towards enhancing primary care and hospital services through a strategic, integrated approach to healthcare provider networks (HCPNs). As mandated by the Universal Health Care (UHC) Act of 2019, we can increase access points and improve healthcare delivery for every Filipino community.
We commend the strong commitment of Aklan’s local government in ensuring that the health care needs of Aklanons are supported. Their zeal in securing health has enabled the initial demonstration of the Health Care Provider Network (HCPN) in their province which will bring us closer to delivering UHC to every Filipino. This highlights the need for robust local government support in truly protecting our members from the financial risks of health care.
We further acknowledge that establishing clear communication lines with our stakeholders is central to the success of PhilHealth’s benefits. A recent social media post highlighted a service interaction that was immediately acted on and subsequently resolved through direct communication with the hospital and the member. This incident underscores the critical need for transparent dialogue and prompt resolution of healthcare service concerns.
Our ongoing efforts focus on strengthening healthcare systems, ensuring effective communication, and maintaining the highest standards of patient care and support.
“Patuloy pa natin paiigtingin ang ating serbisyo nang sama-sama nating maitatag ang isang PhilHealth na mabilis, tapat, at mapagkakatiwalaan,” reassured PhilHealth Acting President and CEO Dr. Edwin M. Mercado
