St. Elizabeth Hospital, Inc. (SEHI) and PhilHealth Regional Office XII (PRO XII) entered into a MOA on April 28, 2025 to provide enhanced cardiac care benefits to members in the region and neighboring areas. This partnership enables SEHI to offer Z Benefit Packages for Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) and Valvular Heart Disease (VHD). A significant step towards a more inclusive and responsive healthcare system for the Filipino people which also aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision of improving healthcare services and benefits for all.
PhilHealth members and their qualified dependents can now access cardiac services at SEHI, with PhilHealth covering the costs – Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) provides coverage of up to ₱960,000; Valvular Heart Disease (VHD) for both adults and pediatric patients covers up to ₱810,000 for heart valve repair and/or replacement. Both include comprehensive care from initial evaluation to post-operative management ensuring that patients receive thorough information and support throughout their treatment journey.
While patients have the option for private accommodations and specialist fees, those admitted to basic or ward-type accommodations with shared amenities will benefit from PhilHealth’s No Balance Billing (NBB) policy for essential health services and post-operative complications with no additional out-of-pocket expenses.
The contract signing was attended by key leaders of SEHI including their Chief Executive Officer Mr. Antonio G. Veneracion, and Ms. Samantha Mae S. Chu, representing their Medical Director. For PRO XII, Regional Vice President, Dr. Hector Zenon Leonardo P. Malate and HCDMD Chief, Dr. Lizamar P. Banatao were in attendance.
“This collaboration with PhilHealth marks a significant leap towards our unwavering commitment to making critical healthcare accessible to those who need it most. We are honored to partner with PhilHealth in safeguarding Filipino families from the potentially devastating financial burden associated with severe cardiac conditions.” the SEHI CEO said.
As part of PhilHealth's Rise 30 Mission aimed at transforming the Corporation into a more responsive, efficient and sustainable organization, RVP Malate highlighted the importance of this partnership, “This agreement with St. Elizabeth Hospital reinforces our dedication to providing comprehensive and affordable healthcare benefits to our members in Region XII and neighboring areas. We are confident that this will profoundly impact the lives of many Filipinos.”
The alliance supports the national agenda of providing robust financial risk protection to families facing catastrophic illnesses. By reducing out-of-pocket expenses and ensuring access to quality healthcare through standardized care protocols, this partnership represents a significant step towards a more inclusive and responsive healthcare system for the Filipino people. ###
