PhilHealth Brings Konsulta Closer to the People: LHIO Koronadal Launches On-Site First Patient Encounter (FPE) Services 04-24-2025

To bring essential primary healthcare services closer to the people, PhilHealth Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) Koronadal and the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital launched on-site Konsulta First Patient Encounter (FPE) services on March 24-26, 2025, at the LHIO premises.

Nearly 100 clients completed their free FPEs, which included basic laboratory tests and chest X-rays. Among them, six tricycle drivers were diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) and have been promptly referred for immediate treatment. In addition, several individuals were found to have hypertension and were advised to return to the healthcare provider for appropriate medical management.

“We are bringing Konsulta services closer to where our members are. This initiative not only improves access but also enables early detection of illnesses,” said Atty. Zainaldin D. Limpao, OIC of LHIO Koronadal.

Through this initiative, clients transacting with LHIO Koronadal are not only assisted with their PhilHealth concerns but are also registered with a Konsulta provider and provided with their initial consultation—an essential step in availing of the Konsulta benefits.

These on-site services are currently available from Monday to Wednesday. To ensure full-week availability, the LHIO is actively seeking to partner with private Konsulta providers to offer services on Thursdays and Fridays.

PhilHealth personnel are encouraged to take advantage of the on-site FPE services, especially if they have not yet availed of this benefit for the year. This is not only an opportunity to prioritize one’s own health, but also to serve as a model in promoting preventive care within our communities. Clients are also encouraged to help spread awareness of this service among family and friends.

By bringing these services directly to our offices, LHIO Koronadal reaffirms PhilHealth’s commitment to making primary care more accessible, proactive, and impactful for every Filipino.
