PhilHealth-NCR & Rizal stages band fest to promote Konsulta 11-07-2024

To further boost public awareness on the State Agency’s Konsulta Program – or Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama, PhilHealth’s primary care benefit package, the PhilHealth NCR and Rizal Regional Office (PRO-NCR & Rizal) held its first ever battle of the bands dubbed K-Rakrakan featuring the regions’ talented musicians.

Bands were asked to submit their original compositions, which focused on educating and spreading awareness about the Konsulta program. From the song entries, 10 finalists advanced to the live performance where the final stage of judging also took place.

PhilHealth K-Rakrakan was initiated through the leadership of PRO-NCR & Rizal Vice President Dr. Bernadette Lico and was held at Ynares Sports Arena on October 15, 2024 in Pasig City.

EVP and COO Atty. Eli Dino Santos, VP for the Arbitration Office Atty. Jay Villegas, Corporate Legal Counsel Atty. Mauro Anthony Cabading, Acting VP for Corporate Affairs Group Mr. Rey Baleña, and Acting SM of Corporate Planning Department Mr. Dennis Formadero were the judges during the event along with Color It Red band members Cooky Chua and Kwachi Vergara who also gave the audience a special performance to remember.

Puhon Band from Valenzuela City bested the competition and received the grand prize of P50,000. Race to Valhalla Phl from Manila City placed second and netted P30,000, while J Brothers Band from Muntinlupa City claimed third place for the P20,000-cash prize. Other bands, including Zinjan Thropuz (Quezon City), Genesis Band (Muntilupa City), 4 O’Clock (Caloocan City), 1880 (Rizal Province), Kixe (Makati City), Dos (Quezon City), and Demi Apollos (Quezon City), received P5,000 each in consolation prizes.

Not only were the audience were treated to great music, but more importantly, were made aware of Konsulta’s benefits that include free medical consultations, laboratory tests, and medicines for select conditions that go a long way in early detection and prevention of serious illnesses. ###
