PhilHealth Malolos takes Konsulta to STI National Career Fest 09-13-2024

PhilHealth Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO)-Malolos, in collaboration with STI College of Baliwag, Balagtas, and Malolos, Bulacan, actively participated in the STI National Career Fest from June 25 to 26, 2024. The two-day event equipped the graduating students with essential knowledge of Universal Health Care (UHC) and registration to the National Health Insurance Program (NHIP).

The first day commenced with an orientation session led by Zenaida Dela Vega, Chief Social Insurance Officer of LHIO-Malolos. She explained the concepts of UHC, emphasizing the significance of membership with the NHIP. Dela Vega then gave the participants a better understanding of PhilHealth premium contributions that make financing healthcare benefits possible.

The author also gave a detailed discussion on PhilHealth benefits and the process of availment - highlighting guaranteed access to essential care through Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama, or Konsulta, PhilHealth’s primary care benefit package.

On the second day, LHIO-Malolos personnel received and evaluated PhilHealth Membership Registration Forms submitted by the graduating students. In addition, the Office promoted Konsulta by inviting accredited package providers including the Rural Health Units of Malolos, Balagtas, and Baliwag to register students with Konsulta Package Providers or KPPs and allow them to undergo first-patient encounter (FPE) and consultation.

The National Career Fest served as a pivotal platform for students to explore career opportunities, and gain a deeper understanding of social health insurance and its crucial role in the Philippine health care system.
