PhilHealth Accredits its First School-Based Clinic as Konsulta Package Provider (KPP)

Cognizant of the need to prioritize students’ health, the PhilHealth Local Health Insurance Office – Fairview headed by Ms. Josephine D. Isorena launched the Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (Konsulta) in Electron School – Main Campus in Novaliches, Quezon City, making this the first accredited school-based Konsulta Package Provider (KPP) in the country.

PhilHealth Regional Office – National Capital Region’s (PRO-NCR) led by Vice President, Dr. Bernadette C. Lico, facilitated this historic partnership between PhilHealth and Electron College during an event held on April 30, 2024.

It was a fun-filled activity where students showcased their talents in singing, dancing and acting. Students were also oriented on the processes and benefits of the program. After which, they underwent their First Patient Encounter (FPE) which included health profiling, check-up/consultation and prescriptions for laboratory test and medicines.

Electron College Chief Executive Officer and President Dr. Dominador V. Solis along with Administrative Director Leah G. Solis, PhD were thrilled by the partnership with PhilHealth. Now, students, faculty, and staff, as well as their families, are guaranteed of primary care benefits under the PhilHealth Konsulta Package.

The school, which provides technical-vocational education and offers a variety of courses such in Complete Academic Strands, Bachelor Degrees and Short Term Courses, was among the schools that expressed interest to implement Konsulta and was first to comply with the documentary requirements and other resources and medical equipment needed for accreditation.

Members are assured of PRO-NCR’s commitment to advance the implementation of the Universal Health Care (UHC) in the most densely populated region in the country. [END]
