PhilHealth PCEO Ledesma meets La Union Provincial Government 02-06-2024

“We are very honored and grateful to be invited to sessions like these to give us the chance to hear your issues and concerns,” said PhilHealth President and Chief Executive Officer (PCEO) Emmanuel R. Ledesma Jr. during a Consultative Meeting with the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) at the La Union Provincial Capitol in San Fernando City, La Union on February 6, 2024.

La Union Provincial Administrator and Former Governor Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III facilitated the meeting with the La Union Provincial Health Office and district hospital chiefs in attendance.

PGLU conveyed concerns raised by La Union Rural Health Units and City Health Offices to improve the delivery of health care in the province. PGLU sought an update on their request to be included in the Primary Care Provider Network Sandbox Sites. It further suggested enhancement and updating of Case Rates, Animal Bite Treatment Package, Subdermal Contraceptive Implants, and development of Breast Mass Screening benefit package. The meeting also touched PGLU’s requests for case rates for dental procedures, mass excision, and other minor surgeries.

In view of these, PhilHealth Regional Office I (PRO I) Regional Vice President Dennis B. Adre replied, “Rest assured that PhilHealth is listening to you.” He assured that the suggested reforms are documented and endorsed accordingly. Adre thanked PGLU for working closely with PRO I and Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO)-La Union and encouraged partners to deliver a more responsive brand of service.

Dr. Dan William Y. Dacanay II, Provincial Health Officer, who was also present during the meeting, expressed his gratitude to PhilHealth for the opportunity to voice out their thoughts. In response, PCEO Ledesma assured that PhilHealth offers its all-out support to the Province of La Union.

Among the others present in the meeting were PhilHealth Area I Vice President Walter R. Bacareza, La Union LHIO Chief, Raymund O. Maningding, and some PRO I staff, and representatives of PhilHealth Corporate Legal Counsel, and Corporate Communication Department.

With a shared commitment to the well-being of the community, the consultative meeting underscored the importance of collective action to achieve the shared vision of delivering quality health care to the people.
