PhilHealth-Caraga visits hospital, patients to celebrate the Corporation’s 29th Anniversary 02-26-2024

As part of PhilHealth’s 29th Anniversary celebration, PhilHealth Regional Office (PRO)-Caraga organized a special visit at the Butuan Medical Center on February 26, 2024. Present during the said visit were Michael Jibson C. Hernandez, Regional Vice President (RVP); Dr. Arturo S. De Jesus, Health Care Delivery Management Division Chief; Dr. Pinky B. Espelimbergo, Head of Benefits Administration Section; and Katherin A. Pocon, Head of Public Affairs Unit. They were joined by Malasakit Center and PhilHealth Customer Assistance Relations and Empowerment Staff.

The activity marked a significant milestone for PhilHealth to ensure that every patient can relate to the anniversary theme “Damang-Dama ko ang Benepisyo” by engaging them – listening to their concerns, and gaining insights into their experiences when availing of PhilHealth benefits.

The visit also promoted solidarity among PhilHealth beneficiaries and health care providers as the regional leadership fostered deeper connections them, and expressed appreciation for their trust and support over the years.

RVP Hernandez and the team went around the various wardsand asked patients and caregivers alike about the quality of care afforded by the hospital, challenges encountered, and suggestions on how to improve PhilHealth services.

Later on, snacks were shared and small tokens were distributed to the patients. PhilHealth-Caraga hoped that these small gestures uplifted patients’ spirits of and brought moments of joy amidst their healthcare journey. Informational materials about PhilHealth’s programs and services, and beneficiaries’ rights were also given to provide them with knowledge about their health care entitlements.

The hospital visit proved to be a heartwarming and impactful experience for both the PhilHealth team and patients. It provided an opportunity for PRO-Caraga to connect with the community, gather feedback directly from patients, and identify areas of improvement. It also strengthened the bond between PhilHealth and its stakeholders, thereby building trust, transparency, and accountability in the delivery of health care services.

Indeed, what a meaningful way to celebrate the PhilHealth’s 29th Anniversary!
