The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility through an outreach activity on February 24, 2024, at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Home for Women in Logoy-Diutay, Talon-Talon, Zamboanga City.

During his opening message, Mr. Nadzmier A. Sajili, PhilHealth Local Health Insurance Office Chief, emphasized the significance of addressing domestic violence. "Violence against women and their children causes devastating consequences to a person and to society as it hinders individual potential and tears families apart."

He also highlighted PhilHealth's expanded efforts to combat violence against women, "Through this Corporate Social Responsibility program, we at PhilHealth have leveled up our efforts and support to end violence against women as we now go beyond the wearing of orange shirts in our advocacy."

The event included various activities such as PhilHealth Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (Konsulta) Orientation, and distribution of essential supplies to the residents of the DSWD Home for Women. PhilHealth representatives also engaged with the participants and expressed admiration for their courage and resilience.

"We believe in empowering women survivors and supporting institutions that provide crucial resources and assistance. This endeavor is a reflection of our values and our dedication to building a safer, healthier, and more hospitable society," Mr. Sajili said.

The officers and personnel of the DSWD Home for Women conveyed their gratitude to PhilHealth for their support and partnership in addressing issues affecting women in Zamboanga City.
