We value the participation of our partner doctors in the successful implementation of the Universal Health Care program.
The new rates were actuarially determined and properly consulted with the various stakeholders prior to the enactment of RA 11223 and the approval of its implementing rules and regulations. The rates apply to all Direct Contributors and not only to doctors.
The adjustment in contributions is meant to sustain and continuously enhance the benefits being availed of by our 108 million members, many of whom are poor and marginalized.
We are currently engaging with the Philippine Medical Association and other professional societies to work out a mutually acceptable schedule for premium collection consistent with the UHC Law.
