THE Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) aims to further improve public service delivery by adopting the latest Quality Management System (QMS) that is compliant to ISO 9001:2015 . Hence, a technical working group (TWG) was created to monitor and supervise the progress of the Corporation in achieving the said goal.
In July 2018, PhilHealth was officially ISO 9001:2015 certified following the recommendation of third party auditor Anglo Japanese American (AJA) Registrars Inc.. This would not have been realized without the solid and unrelenting support from the TWG.
To honor and recognize the TWG’s hard work, PhilHealth, through its Organizational and System Development Office (OSDO) has conducted the first QMS night at the Legend Villas in Mandaluyong City. Dubbed “Isang Pagpupugay at Pagtitibay sa De-kalidad na Serbisyo.” The event was participated in by more than one hundred QMS movers from different PhilHealth offices all over the country.
PhilHealth Acting President and CEO Dr. Roy B. Ferrer praised the members of the TWG for the efforts they have exerted to raise the quality standards of PhilHealth’s frontline and internal processes to a different level. “Our journey to this momentous feat was definitely not an easy one, but you persevered despite the challenges, to make sure that procedures are standardized up to the seemingly unimportant task the workplace. This is a giant step towards instilling among us a sense of greater responsibility for everything that we do and I really hope we can sustain this for the many years to come,” Ferrer remarked.
On the other hand, Vice President for Corporate Affairs and Official Spokesperson Dr. Shirley B. Domingo also encouraged every employee to maintain their commitment to continually improve the delivery of good quality service.
During the event, the Corporation gave recognition to the following exemplary members of the TWG:
Recipients of the honor awards were deliberated and screened by the OSDO based on their contributions that led to PhilHealth achieving the coveted ISO Certificate.
The event also became an opportune time for PhilHealth IQAs in the different areas to share their experiences, learnings and challenges encountered during their journey towards ISO 9001:2015 Certification.
ISO 9001:2015 deals with quality management system for organizations that need to demonstrate ability to consistently provide products and services that achieve customer satisfaction and at the same time meet applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. (END) (Dianna Marie S. Chua)
