These words describe the new location of the Central Branch and Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) - Quezon City of the Philippine Health Insurance Office (PhilHealth) at the Corporate 145 Building, 145 Mother Ignacia Avenue, South Triangle, Quezon City.
Strategically located in the middle of Quezon City, the new office location is highly accessible through EDSA, Quezon and Timog Avenues. The LHIO Quezon City occupies 800 square meters of office space at the ground floor of the building with 20 counters serving clients from Quezon City’s Districts I, III and IV, neighboring city of San Juan and other walk-in clients. The PhilHealth NCR Central Office, as well as the support and operations offices, are located in the 8th to 10th floors of the building.
During the inauguration, Cheryl W. Peña, Officer-in-charge, Branch Manager of NCR Central announced that “LHIO Quezon City has the most number of clients served daily, with an average of 5,000-6,000 clients per day.” She added that “since we transferred here and began the full operation this January, we noted the fifteen percent (15%) increase in the number of clients visiting our office from the same period of last year.”
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Ruben John A. Basa, on the other hand, mentioned that PhilHealth Regional Office – NCR is the face of PhilHealth since it accounts for a big chunk of PhilHealth operations. He also reminded the employees that the members deserve the brand of quality service they deserve from PhilHealth and emphasized that “maaliwalas ang bago nating tanggapan at sana ang mga miyembro ay maaliwalas na lalabas dahil sila ay napagsilbihan ng maayos, mabilis at magalang at isipin natin na sila ay nagpupunta sa atin dahil sinasandalan nila ang serbisyo at benepisyo ng PhilHealth.”
The LHIO Quezon City accepts all PhilHealth transactions from new membership registration, data record updating, Member Data Record and PhilHealth Identification Cards issuance and premium contributions payment. Employer and hospital representatives and other stakeholders with specific concerns are also accommodated.
Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte, the guest of honor in the event, warmly welcomed PhilHealth, and assured the universal health care coverage of her constituents.
Present during the inauguration were Dr. Hildegardes Dineros, Board Member for Informal Sector, Dr. Shirley B. Domingo, Vice President for NCR, Dr. Israel Francis A. Pargas, Head Executive Assistant and concurrent OIC-Vice President for Corporate Affairs Group, Mario Matanguihan, Senior Manager for Physical Resources and Infrastructure Department. NCR Branch Managers Dr. Cynthia Camacho (NCR North) and Dr. Bernadette Lico (NCR South) other NCR LHIO Heads, Capt. Larry Handayan of Brgy. South Triangle, representatives from Commission on Audit, Civil Service Commission and other stakeholders.
The LHIO Quezon City has an excellent front line service record and is a recipient of the Red Orchid Award from the Department of Health in 2015 and 2016, the CSC Seal of Excellence Four Stars in 2015, and just recently, the DOH Drug-Free Workplace in 2018. (END) (by Pinky G. Aragones)
