The newly elected Acting President and Chief Executive Officer of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) called for shared commitment in the implementation of the National Health Insurance Program (NHIP).
Addressing employees through a nationwide, synchronized flag raising ceremony recently, Dr. Roy B. Ferrer acknowledged that “this is probably the most challenging time in PhilHealth’s corporate life” but that “this is also the best time for all of us to strengthen our shared commitment to bring PhilHealth to the next level of success and accomplishments.”
Ferrer further encouraged all employees to move forward and work hard to give the Filipino people the same brand of frontline service that PhilHealth is known for – fast, efficient and accurate.
He stressed that public service is a public trust and challenged everyone to uphold the pledge of commitment to serve with utmost integrity, loyalty and efficiency at all times. He also added that everybody should remain positive and to accept the challenges as public servants.
The new PhilHealth Chief also urged employees to cultivate a culture of openness and transparency and build bridges and not walls. “With our shared commitment, competence and courage, we can turn the situation around positively in the soonest possible time. Our families deserve the best of us! The Filipino people deserve the best of you,” he added.
Ferrer also called on the PhilHealth community to work as one solid team. “We recognize the urgent need to address our internal concerns first, so we can forge ahead with all the strength we need to overcome the challenges that we are already expecting as the second half of the year beckons,” he stated.
He has visited all the departments in the Head Office, and some of the Regional Offices during the first week of his assumption as the PhilHealth Chief. He is set to visit other regional offices to personally hear the sentiments of the employees and to rally them to continue exceeding expectations with the best interest of members and stakeholders in mind.
