ALL 17 Regional Offices of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), one Local Health Insurance Office (LHIOs) in each region, and two Branch Offices are now certified with the ISO 9001:2008, following the recommendation of the third party auditor, Anglo Japanese American (AJA) Registrars Inc. The awarding ceremony was held at the Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan in Libis, Quezon City.
Certified are PhilHealth’s Regional Offices in the cities of Baguio, Dagupan, Tuguegarao, San Fernando, Lucena, Batangas, Legazpi, Iloilo, Cebu, Tacloban, Zamboanga, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Koronadal, Butuan, Marawi and the National Capital Region.
Also certified are PhilHealth’s LHIOs in Benguet, Urdaneta, Ilagan, Bataan, Calamba, Lipa, Catanduanes, Antique, Dumaguete, Tacloban, Dipolog, Bukidnon, Tagum, Kidapawan, Marawi, Tandag, and Manila; PRO III - A and NCR South branches.
The ISO 9001:2008 certification is being granted to organizations that demonstrated high standards of customer service with a commitment to continuously innovate to further meet the expectations of clients.
Being the only social health insurance corporation in the country with at least 92 million members relying on its health insurance benefits and services, PhilHealth reaffirmed its committed to provide the highest quality standards in pursuing customer satisfaction.
“PhilHealth has set and complied with a quality management system to fulfill its obligations to its members. The ISO certification is a testament to our commitment to uphold quality management systems in how we conduct our business,” said Dr. Celestina Ma. Jude P. De La Serna, PhilHealth Interim / OIC – President and Chief Executive Officer.
To obtain the ISO certification, PhilHealth officers and employees conducted a series of re-echo sessions on the proper procedure of handling and storage of documents, implementation of 5S or the clean-up day, regular committee meetings, and quality management system orientations.
“We did not expect it to be easy, but with the three values that PhilHealth employees have presented throughout the gruelling process, namely commitment, agility and team work, this award makes all the effort worthy,” said Dr. Clementine A.
