Members and non-members of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) from Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and Valenzuela (CAMANAVA) and nearby areas may now enjoy a better and bigger space for their PhilHealth transactions.
The PhilHealth Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) Caloocan, formerly located at Remcor Building has transferred to its new home at Victory Mall in Caloocan City to better serve its clientele.
With the new location, the LHIO Caloocan can now accommodate thousands of customers and mall goers with various PhilHealth transactions such as membership, premium payments, updating of records, and printing of number cards.
“We see the need to transfer to a more spacious, well-ventilated, and accessible location especially now that we are catering to about 4,000 transactions per day from the previous number of transactions of 2,500 per day,” said Dennis Mas, PhilHealth Regional Vice President for National Capital Region.
The new office has a breastfeeding station for mothers who need to feed their babies while other visitors can get advice on smoking cessation at the smoking-counseling corner while waiting for their turn. Likewise, coffee lovers can also enjoy a sip of coffee for free.
“We want our members to experience the best and quality frontline services they deserve. In fact, LHIO Caloocan has received the Seal of Excellence award in 2014 and 2015 and the Red Orchid Award for the anti-smoking campaign from the Civil Service Commission,” Mas added.
Former PhilHealth Acting President and CEO Ramon F. Aristoza Jr. recounts the relationship between program sustainability and customer satisfaction. “Kung ikaw ay magtatayo ng opisina at hindi ganito kaganda, hindi komportable ang mga kliyente, magbabayad ba sila on time? Magreremit ba on time? Baka mawalan ng gana. That’s sustainability,” Aristoza emphasized.
On the other hand, former PhilHealth OIC-Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and Concurrent Regional Vice President for CARAGA Johnny Sychua lauded the LHIO employees on their dedication and commitment to serve the public. “You have grown in size and you have grown in importance, and your importance is going to significance because it shows your commitment to serve our clients at the highest standard of quality service,” Sychua said.
LHIO Caloocan first opened its services to clients in 2009 with an initial 13-member team. At present, LHIO Caloocan has 40 personnel who cater to various PhilHealth concerns from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Mondays to Fridays.
The opening ceremonies were attended by PhilHealth officers and representatives from the Department of Health, Local Government Units of Malabon and Caloocan and other partner stakeholders. (END) (Michelle S. Nisperos)
