Ramon F. Aristoza Jr., Acting President and CEO of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), together with Walter Bacareza, Vice President of PhilHealth Regional Office III, witnessed the unveiling and inauguration of the 10,000-bed mega drug treatment and rehabilitation center in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija in the presence of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
The P1.4 billion worth, 100-square meter facility was donated by philanthropist and Chinese businessman, Huang Rulun to help the President solve the drug problem.
In his speech, Duterte acknowledged Huang’s noble assistance as a good Samaritan. “Mr. Huang, please accept my gratitude and that of the Filipino people,” Duterte said.
PhilHealth supports the war on drugs through the release of a Medical Detoxification Package amounting to P10,000.00. The one-time claim detoxification package is available since December 6, 2016 through any PhilHealth-accredited government hospital, as well as drug rehabilitation and treatment centers licensed by the Department of Health and accredited by PhilHealth.
The Mega Treatment Rehabilitation Center is located within the area of jurisdiction of PRO III, which aims to help address the challenges of drug addiction by providing the firsts stage or the precursor to effective drug addiction treatment.
