Oriña headed the awarding of medals to the winners and the ceremonial turn-over of Fun Run proceeds to PRO IVA’s three local beneficiaries: Sinag Kalinga, Hermana Fausta Development Center and Faith, Hope and Love Kids Ranch.
Each of the representatives gave their messages of gratitude to PRO IVA for choosing them as its local beneficiary. With the proceeds, a number of children, IPs and elderlies under their care will be protected, empowered and given love and care.
Items such as iPad minis, watches and mountain bikes were up for grabs for the raffle. Runners stayed with the PRO IV-A community to wait for their numbers to be drawn.
To encourage people to register for the run, runnning events and running venues have been maximized to get more runners involved in this nationwide event. On-site registrations were organized at the Pacific Mall in Lucena City where running enthusiasts go for their regular early morning jogs.
During these on-site registrations, it was truly inspiring to see families, groups and individuals joining the queues to register for the PhilHealth Run 2015.
The Registration Committee represented by Alburo and Algenia Villanueva dedicated their weekends for the on-site registrations. They even visited schools, colleges and universities and set up registration booths to encourage students to join the run. Some race kits were given for free through the sponsorship of Marian Hospital and San Pedro Doctors Hospital.
Local running events were also maximized to drumbeat the registration region-wide.
Sponsors and all the runners have been instrumental in realizing the goal of the fun run - the chance to uplift the lives of the local beneficiaries. They have been instruments of change and to continue to provide them with basic food and health needs. (END)
