For quite some time, various agencies in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao were still adopting the old system of employer’s remittances. But PhilHealth’s introduction of the Electronic Premium Reporting System (ePRS) resulted to a greater improvement in terms of submission of premium reports.
With these developments, the Public Affairs Unit (PAU) in PRO ARMM in coordination with LHIO Marawi City chose to visit the Provincial Office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in the Province of Lanao del Sur based in Marawi City to learn more about their experiences with the use of the new remittance system. The Provincial Office centrally processes all remittances of 271 DENR employees of both First and Second Districts of this province including CENRO, Marawi City.
Ashawie T. Pangandaman, DENR Chief of the Administrative Section talks about the advantages of shifting to ePRS. He disclosed the difference between the old and new systems. He enumerated many advantages of using the ePRS such as the convenience of preparing reports which is portable since it can be done anywhere so long as there is Internet connection, thereby resulting to on-time posting. On the side, he mentioned the economic aspect since it is absolutely paperless. Accuracy of amount being remitted is another advantage of ePRS, according to Pangandaman.
He said that “prior to the adoption of this new system, there were employees who failed to avail themselves of PhilHealth benefits due to the delay of remittance reporting.”
Seeing no worries this time, a satisfied work force is impressed with the way PhilHealth moves to greater heights. Pangandaman thanks PhilHealth for choosing the DENR for giving them the opportunity to express their positive experience relative to the introduction of ePRS, which is the new mode of preparation and transmission of remittance reports of employers.
