THE Philippine Health Insurance Corporation recently conducted its 2nd Kapihan with the President and CEO at the PhilHealth Head Office in Pasig City.
Around 30 media partners from the Philippine Star, Manila Bulletin, Manila Times, Philippine News Agency, Media ng Bayan, Bulgar, Balita, Bandera, Pilipino Mirror, Remate, Dyaryo Pinoy, PTV 4, Light TV Network-Zoe, DZBB, DWIZ, RMN-DZXL, DZIQ, DZEC, DWBL and RJ 100.3 FM attended the Kapihan.
The discussion focused on the new PhilHealth policies on the extension of dialysis treatment package from 45 to 90 days per year, and the per session rate which was rationalized to P2, 600.
PhilHealth President and CEO Alexander A. Padilla also clarified the issue involving PhilHealth Board Member Risa Hontiveros’ endorsement of PhilHealth programs in a TV commercial. "We wish to categorically state that PhilHealth did not spend a single centavo for the production and airing of the said TV commercial," Padilla said.
Some of the questions raised by the media representatives pertain to Point of Care enrollment policy, PhilHealth future plans and targets for 2016, proposal to include the drug rehabilitation treatment in the PhilHealth package, and the use of HCI Portal, among others.
Meanwhile, Dr. Israel Francis A. Pargas, OIC Vice President for Corporate Affairs Group discussed the process of peritoneal dialysis. "Ang peritoneal dialysis ay isang ambulatory service, ibig sabihin puedeng gawin kahit saan at ang gumagawa nito ay mismong pasyente. It is more convenient and you can do it anywhere." Pargas said.
