The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), together with the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) and Social Security System (SSS) recently pledged their commitment to promote and ensure adequate social services and protection for the elderly Filipinos in line with observance of the “Linggo ng Katandaang Pilipino”.

The signing of the pledge of commitment took place during the Elderly Filipino Week celebration held at the SM Megatrade Hall in Mandaluyong City recently.

Other government agencies that joined the event were Department of Social Welfare and Development (DWSD) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). Information booths were set-up to provide member services to participating senior citizens and mall goers as well. An updating session was also conducted to inform the attendees on the programs being implemented by the said agencies.
