The ALAGA KA (which stands for Alamin at Gamitin) Para sa Maayos na Buhay campaign was successfully launched at the Quezon Memorial Circle on March 24, 2014 with no less than His Excellency President Benigno S. Aquino III gracing the event. An estimated 1,600 Indigent members from local government units in Metro Manila attended the event and availed themselves of free Primary Care Services under the TSeKaP or Tamang Serbisyo para sa Kalusugan ng Pamilya being provided onsite.
The ALAGA KA campaign is an advocacy for PhilHealth members to know their rights and privileges under the universal health care program and utilize the services being offered to them. The grand launch jumpstart a series of ALAGA KA roadshows in various barangays and local government units with PhilHealth Indigent members. The launch activity featured testimonials from members and stakeholders, health profiling, TSeKaP services, audio visuals and many more.
In his welcome remarks, PhilHealth President and CEO Alexander A. Padilla said that this gathering for the ALAGA Ka advocacy campaign intends to demonstrate that "walang Pilipinong maiiwan sa pagpapatupad ng mga programang pangkalusugan." He added that this show of force of local and national government is to make people, particularly the poor, feel secured, "nais ipadama ng pamahalaan sa mga mahihirap nating kababayan na kayo ay inaalalayan at inaalagaan ng gobyerno upang mapanitili ang inyong kalusugan."
