PhilHealth Turns Over P24 M to Beneficiaries July 4, 2013

THE Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) recently turned over a total of P24 million to different healthcare facilities in the country as beneficiaries of the first "PhilHealth-DOH Run 2013: Nationwide Run for Mothers and Child Protection".

The run-for-a-cause event held on February 17, 2013 is in line with the Universal Health Care and aims to benefit mother and child’s health in support of the country’s commitment to the Millennium Development Goals. Proceeds amounting to P12 million have been turned over to the Philippine Children’s Medical Center and Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital with P6M each as national beneficiaries. The rest of the proceeds amounting to P12 M have been given to 18 other health institutions in different parts of the country which also cater to mother and child health.
