PhilHealth Joins CSC Race to Serve III Fun Run September 17, 2013

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) joined the R.A.C.E. to Serve III Fun Run of the Civil Service Commission held at the Quirino Grandstand, Rizal Park, Manila on September 7, 2013 in support of the 113th anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service.

Various civil servants from different government offices led by Vice President Jejomar C. Binay and CSC Chair Dr. Francisco T. Duque, III participated in the said event. Also in attendance were CESB Executive Director Atty. Ma. Anthonette Velasco-Allones, PAO Chief Persida Rueda-Acosta and DOH Assistant Secretary and Spokesperson Dr. Eric Tayag who led the warm up exercises.

The theme for this year "Tatak Lingkod Bayani: Isabuhay, Ipagmalaki at Ipagbunyi" aims to promote, showcase and celebrate heroism in public service and to highlight stories of triumph and sacrifice among men and women in the government.

The event was supported by the Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine National Police, Pasay City Government, Manila City Government, National Parks Development Committee and Metro Manila Development Authority. Aside from PhilHealth with more than 160 delegates in attendance, other government institutions that graced the event are SSS, Pag-IBIG, GSIS, DBM, DILG, PMS, SEC and others.

The proceeds of the fun run will go to the Pondong Pamanang Lingkod Bayan that grants financial aid to immediate family members of state workers who died in line of duty.

The fun run officially opened the month-long celebration of the Philippine Civil Service anniversary this September. (END)
