THE Philippine Ambassador to Muscat in Oman, Joselito A. Jimeno recently paid PhilHealth a visit to invite the State-run Health Insurance agency to become part of a coffee table book project which will feature the arts and literary works of young children of overseas Filipino workers in the Middle East.
Through an inter-school art and literary competition, 32 Philippine schools and over 700 elementary and high school students in Oman, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar, are joining and vying for a chance to have their works published in the said coffee table book as well as be displayed in art exhibits in Oman.
Ambassador Jimeno said "we regard it as a tool to encourage parents, schools and communities to appreciate and give vital support to the creative development of their children."
PhilHealth is sponsoring the said book project having the theme, "Art as Reality: Young Lives in Transition" as part of its corporate social responsibility, and to promote and inform overseas Filipino workers and their dependents of their rights to access quality health care services through their PhilHealth coverage. The Commission on Filipinos Overseas and the National Commission on Culture and Arts have endorsed the said endeavor. (END)
