THE PhilHealth Regional Office II and the local government unit of Cabagan, Isabela headed by Mayor Christopher Mamauag recently entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the latter's participation in the Sponsored Program.
This breakthrough became possible after more than two (2) years of unceasing negotiations initiated by PhRO II for the said LGU to become part of the Sponsored Program.
Mamauag said that the people of Cabagan can expect continuous support as he cited the importance of good health as something every person should possess. He also said the MOA signing opens doors for a long and fruitful relationship between PhilHealth and LGU Cabagan.
Under the MOA, the LGU and the Provincial Government of Isabela led by Gov. Grace Padaca will shoulder the premiums of the indigent families on a 50-50 sharing. The MOA calls for a capitation fund sharing wherein 75 percent will go to the LGU while the 25 percent will go to the Provincial Government of Isabela.
The ceremonial MOA signing was held simultaneously with the Inter-Local Health Zone District I program implementation review which assures 5,000 Cabagueños of access to quality health care from accredited hospitals and rural health units. (Samuel Morillo, PhRO II)
