3,000 Poor Families in QC's 1st District Receive PhilHealth Coverage

SOME 3,000 families from Quezon City's first district received an advanced Valentine's gift from Rep. Vincent "Bingbong" Crisologo when he provided them with health insurance coverage through PhilHealth's Sponsored Program. The ceremonial ID distribution was held at the N.S. Amoranto Covered Court in the morning and at Brgy. Project 6 Covered Court in the afternoon.

The distribution of Sponsored IDs was also attended by Vice Mayor Herbert "Bistek" Bautista and Joy Belmonte who shared their views on the importance of PhilHealth and their commitment to make this benefit available especially to the poorest of the poor within their respective areas of jurisdiction. Bautista expressed his gratitude to Crisologo for prioritizing the health care of his constituents.

Also present were PhilHealth officers Dr. Raul Toquero, officer-in-charge of NCR Central Branch, and Rolando Gonzales, Quezon City Service Office Head. Gonzales oriented the ID recipients on PhilHealth benefits while Toquero welcomed the guests and participants. He said that PhilHealth's collaboration with the local government unit is crucial to the success of the project. He reiterated the importance of being insured with PhilHealth as each member is entitled to hospitalization and outpatient benefits through accredited health care providers and rural health units/ health centers in times of sickness and to ease financial difficulties.

Emphasizing the importance of PhilHealth, Crisologo encouraged the newly enrolled members to be responsible in the safekeeping their IDs and to equip themselves with the basic knowledge on PhilHealth to fully enjoy their benefits.
