PhilHealth Supports Gawad Kalinga Site Development and Beautification Project

THE Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) recently opened its information desk at the South Wing of the Department of Foreign Affairs in Pasay City. The desk which is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Mondays to Fridays, provides information service to overseas Filipino workers about their medical care benefits, obligations, and availment procedures under the Overseas Workers Program of PhilHealth.

The desk is among PhilHealth's ongoing efforts to inform and educate OFW members and their kin about their rights and responsibilities as PhilHealth members.

Under the OWP, land-based OFWs may file for PhilHealth refunds even when they are confined overseas. At the same time, their qualified legal dependents in the country are entitled to PhilHealth benefits through accredited institutional and professional health care providers.(Photos by Nitto G.
