Mayor Lim Leads ID Distribution in Manila's 4th District -

ALMOST 1,029 less privileged residents of Manila's fourth district covering Sampaloc area recently gathered at the Dapitan Sports Complex. to receive their health insurance cards from the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) sponsored by the City Government of Manila.
The health cards will entitle the recipients to PhilHealth benefits when confined in accredited hospitals even outside of Manila. This is in line with Mayor Alfredo Lim's program for indigent constituents whereby the City of Manila allotted P16M for the health insurance of Manila residents for the year 2008.

Dubbed "Tulong Pangkalusugan Para Sa Manileño," the program will entitle the recipients to PhilHealth benefits when confined in accredited hospitals. "Pag natanggap n'yo na ang card na ito, makaka-avail na kayo ng hospitalization benefits sa apat (4) na ospital sa Maynila kagaya ng Tondo General Hospital, Ospital ng Maynila, Gat Andres Memorial Medical Center, Ospital ng Sampaloc at 24 na private hospitals." He stressed that while the card recipients did not pay any amount for the enrollment "... sa inyo nanggaling ang perang ito, ibinabalik lamang namin sa inyo sa pamamagitan ng serbisyo," referring to the taxes being paid by the people.
Rochelle San Pedro, Manila Service Office Head of PhilHealth NCR North Branch specified the benefits that the card recipients and their dependents can avail themselves of when confined in accredited hospitals, namely, subsidies for hospital room and board fees, drugs and medicines, laboratory exams, use of operating room complex and doctors fees.
