PhilHealth Joins Kabisig Expo at SM Mall of Asia - October 19, 2007
The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) recently joined the Kabisig Government Expo at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. The expo was a one-stop shop awareness and appreciation project that highlighted the profiles, service facilities, programs and projects of government agencies. PhilHealth put up an information booth at the expo where shoppers and visitors were provided with updates on the National Health Insurance Program. The week-long expo had for its theme "Global Community: Unity in Diversity." Photo shows PAD PR Officer Rey Baleņa explaining the benefits availment procedures to one of the booth visitors.
Executive Secretary Eduardo S. Ermita did the rounds of product and information booths of participating agencies during the opening day. Ermita issued Memorandum Order No. 245 dated May 15, 2007 enjoining government agencies to support the Expo.
The Kabisig Expo was also an opportunity to promote public awareness and understanding of how government works. More than 200 visitors trooped to the PhilHealth booth to ask about membership, benefits, PhilHealth Numbers and other specific concerns. Roy Geronimo of PAD is shown assisting an employed member.
The Kabisig Expo has schedules in the cities of Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga and Cebu where similar efforts will be undertaken by government agencies in these areas.
