PhilHealth Honors Key Stakeholders - February 27, 2006
THE Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) will
honor its key stakeholders in an evening of gratitude and reminiscing
of milestones that have shaped its colorful history.
In ceremonies to be held tomorrow at the Abelardo Hall in the
University of the Philippines (UP) in Diliman, Quezon City,
PhilHealth will give out awards of recognition to key partners
like the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines
(PMAP), Philippine Hospital Association (PHA), Philippine Medical
Association (PMA), Philippine College of Surgeons (PCS), as
well as to government agencies like the Department of Budget
and Management (DBM), Department of Interior and Local Government
(DILG), National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), National
Anti-Poverty Commision (NAPC), among others.
Lorna O. Fajardo, Officer-in-charge of the Office of the PhilHealth
President and CEO said that the event is a "fitting
tribute to those who have significantly contributed to the whatever
success PhilHealth is enjoying now," adding that these
institutional partners have been instrumental in making PhilHealth
a byword in the five key sectors that it currrently services.
These are the Employed Sector, Non-Paying Sector, Sponsored
Sector, the Individually Paying Sector and the Overseas Filipino
Workers Sector.
Awards will also be bestowed on lawmakers like Senator Edgardo
Angara and House Speaker Jose de Venecia who have advocated
support for the National Health Insurance Program (NHIP) by
initiating relevant legislations that have boosted the importance
of the NHIP in national efforts at poverty alleviation.
The UP Concert Chorus and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration
(OWWA) Chorale will serenade the guests while employees of PhilHealth’s
Office in Region VIII will share PhilHealth’s history
through an interpretative dance number.
