PhilHealth Launches Movement for Quality Health Care - February 14, 2003

IN a bid to make quality health care services more accessible to its members, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) today opens its Service Office in Las Piñas City, home of the world-famous “bamboo organ.”

Located at 267 Real Street (formerly Alabang-Zapote Road,) the newest Service Office will provide such PhilHealth services as direct registration for individually paying and non-paying members and receiving of application for accreditation of doctors and hospitals. For the employed sector, the office will accept membership forms and claims application, as well as quarterly remittance reports and premium payments.

PhilHealth President and CEO Dr. Francisco T. Duque III said the Las Piñas Service Office is ready to serve PhilHealth members from Muntinlupa, Alabang, Sucat, Parañaque and Baclaran.

“The place is conveniently located in the busy Alabang-Zapote road and can be reached through public transport services,” he said. “In the same vicinity are such PhilHealth-accredited collecting banks as Land Bank of the Philippines, Unionbank and Export-Import Bank, making premium payment even more accessible.”

Las Piñas City Mayor Vergel Aguilar, PBA Player Rommel Adducul and Pamplona Barangay Captain Manny Ochoa will lead the guests in the opening ceremonies at 10:00 a.m. today.

“We look forward to setting up more Service Offices within the year to enable us to reach our members from various parts of the National Capital Region,” Duque added.

The Las Piñas Service Office is open Mondays to Fridays, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will be staffed by frontliners from such PhilHealth offices as Claims Processing, Contribution Accounts, Accreditation, Membership and Treasury.
